Divi vs Framer

Divi or Framer? We built the same site in both.

Short answer: pick Framer if you are a designer or founder shipping a marketing site alone, and pick WordPress with Divi 5 if the site has to outlive the people who built it. In September 2026, Marcus Zeal built the same 13-section homepage in both, as 13 Framer code components and as 21 custom Divi 5.9 modules. Both demos are live below.

This page is the short version. If you want a straight answer for your own site, book a free 30-minute call and you will get one, even when the answer is Framer.

Divi or Framer: which one is better?

It depends on who owns the site after launch. Framer was the better place to design. The canvas feels like Figma, the phone breakpoint just holds, and publishing is a button with hosting, CDN and SSL included. It is the right tool for a designer or founder shipping a marketing site alone.

WordPress with Divi 5 won on everything that happens after launch. The client gets the same click-and-edit panel, and underneath it sits a theme in a repository and content in a database you can export, so any WordPress developer can pick the site up. Framer has no code export, so the site lives on Framer's hosting for as long as it exists.

{ What each costs }

What do Framer and Divi cost in 2026?

Framer is $10 a month per site on Basic or $30 on Pro, billed yearly, plus $20 a month for each additional editor. Hosting, updates and security are included, and there is nothing to patch. There is also no code export, forms and commerce come from marketplace plugins, and every extra site or editor adds to the bill. Prices checked September 2026.

WordPress with Divi costs $89 a year or $249 once for unlimited sites and unlimited editors, plus hosting of your choosing. You take on updates, backups and security, or hand them to a care plan from $300 a month.

A Divi 5 site from Zealous Sites starts at $2,400 flat, theme license included, with a fixed price approved before work starts. Custom Divi modules like the ones in the demo start at $6,500.

{ Who should pick which }

Who should pick Framer, and who should pick Divi?

Pick Framer if you are a designer or founder shipping a marketing site alone, the site is mostly pages and a blog, and you would rather pay a subscription than think about hosting.

Pick WordPress with Divi if the site is a business asset that will outlive the people who built it, if you need forms tracked in a CRM, a store, gated content or more than a couple of editors, and if you want to be able to hire anyone to work on it later.

If your only worry is whether the marketing team can edit it, both passed that test.

{ FAQ }

Divi vs Framer questions, answered.

Is Divi better than Framer?

For a designer working alone on a marketing site, Framer usually is. Framer's canvas is the best we have used, and publishing, hosting and SSL are one button. For a business that needs its site to outlive the people who built it, WordPress with Divi is the better fit, because the code and the content stay in your hands and any WordPress developer can take over.

Can you export a Framer site to WordPress?

Not from Framer itself. Framer has no code export, so moving means rebuilding. Third-party exporters scrape the published page and do not reliably carry over interactive components. If you are on Framer and want to move, we rebuild the design in Divi 5 and migrate the content, and the free 30-minute call is where that starts.

Can a client edit a Divi site as easily as a Framer site?

Yes. In the demo, every headline, link, image and status chip is a field in the Divi Visual Builder, so the client clicks a section and edits it in the panel, the same way they would in Framer. Divi also lets them move sections and change the layout without a developer, which Framer's code components do not.

How much does a Framer site cost compared to Divi?

Framer is $10 to $30 a month per site plus $20 a month per extra editor, with hosting included. Divi is $89 a year or $249 once for unlimited sites, plus hosting. A Divi 5 build from Zealous Sites starts at $2,400 flat with the theme license included. Prices checked September 2026.

Is Divi slower than Framer?

Not in this test. The Divi 5 build scored 100 for performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO in Lighthouse on mobile and desktop. That took real work, such as dropping Divi's unused scripts and self-hosting a subset of the fonts, which is part of every build we ship. We did not score the Framer build in the same run because it was not published at the time.

Will you tell me to use Framer if it fits better?

Yes. Framer is on our shortlist for designers and founders shipping a marketing site alone. Book the call, describe the site and who will edit it, and you get a straight recommendation either way. The full write-up covers every quirk we hit in both builds.
